Environmental contaminants can present a significant threat to human health. Performing monitoring to identify and quantify contaminants can provide useful components for a hazard assessment at a hazardous waste or spill response site. This course is the eighth in a series of modules designed to meet the annual 8-hour refresher requirements for HAZWOPER general site workers. After completing this course, workers should be able to identify hazardous atmosphere classifications and recognize various types of monitoring equipment and how to choose the proper instruments for a site. This course is presented in English and Spanish.
