General site workers involved in HAZWOPER activities should be involved in categorizing hazard sites from the onset of operations. Being able to recognize the hazards present on a site is an important part of developing the site’s health and safety plan. This course is the second in a series of modules designed to meet the annual 8-hour refresher requirements for HAZWOPER general site workers. Learners who successfully complete this course should be able to identify chemical properties, recognize explosive hazards and recognize gas hazards associated with HAZWOPER operations. They should also be able to recognize flammability hazards, toxic, infectious and radiological hazards, and corrosive and other common hazards that could be present on HAZWOPER sites. This course is offered in English and Spanish.
