Employee success depends on multiple factors, including mental health. At work, poor mental health can make it harder for employees to focus and remain productive. By providing employees with support, existing challenges can be better managed and future challenges can often be prevented. After employees have completed this course, they should be able to identify the basics of mental health and mental illness, including depression, anxiety, and substance addiction disorders. They should also be able to identify indicators of suicide as well as how to approach someone they believe may be suicidal. Employees should be able to identify ways mental health can be affected by work, and methods for managing stress, anxiety, and mental health in a holistic way. Finally, they should be able to recognize resources available for mental health services. This course is presented in English and Spanish.
