Course Description
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that there are approximately 2,300 electrical-related injuries and 186 electrical-related fatalities each year in the U.S. As little as 6 milliamperes is enough to cause pain and loss of muscle control, making it critical for employers and employees to be aware of and respect the dangers of electricity. Certain employees work with or around high voltage electricity at or above 601 volts. These employees and their employers must take special precautions. Learners who successfully complete this course should be able to recognize the basics of electricity, identify the common hazards associated with high voltage, and identify safe work practices for working with or around high-voltage electricity.
